DuckDisk legal

Terms of Use

Terms for using DuckDisk and its connected-storage features.

Effective August 1, 2026

Acceptance

By installing or using DuckDisk, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software or connect a cloud account.

License

DuckDisk is open-source software distributed under the AGPL-3.0-or-later license. Your rights to copy, modify, and redistribute the source code are governed by that license.

Your accounts and authorization

You may connect only accounts and servers you are authorized to access. You remain responsible for activity performed through your accounts and for maintaining the security of your Mac, provider accounts, and SSH credentials.

Deletion and storage changes

DuckDisk can move selected local or cloud items toward deletion. Review every selection before confirming. Cloud items are normally moved to the provider's trash, but retention and recovery are controlled by the provider. You are responsible for backups and for verifying that important data can be recovered.

Third-party services

OneDrive, Google Drive, GitHub, SSH servers, and other third-party services are governed by their own terms, availability, quotas, and policies. DuckDisk is not responsible for changes or outages in those services.

Acceptable use

Do not use DuckDisk to access data without authorization, interfere with services, evade provider restrictions, or violate applicable law.

No warranty

DuckDisk is provided as available and without warranties to the extent permitted by law. Storage totals can differ from provider or filesystem reports, and scans can be incomplete when access is restricted.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the DuckDisk developer is not liable for lost data, lost profits, service interruption, or indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the software.

Changes

These terms may be updated as DuckDisk changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
